5 questions to Menco Nieuwenhuis

How old were you when you first found out about your passion for clothes?
Somewhat young if I may rely on my mother. Every time she visits my store and meets customers the first thing she tells them is that I always used to dress up in children’s clothing stores. Where other children started crying, I started enjoying. I think I was about 12 when I first realized ´fashion´ was important to me. I do remember struggling with style in those years; I tried to mix preppy and surf scene clothing. Don't judge me on the results.

How would you describe your style?
Clean and anglo-italian. I prefer a very slim cut, but in general work with mostly traditional fabrics. But then again, my style can best be described by those who observe.
